General Incense Scenting Instructions
The instructions below are a general guideline and may vary depending on equipment used & level of strength desired. It is recommended when trying a new fragrance to do a test batch using one stick first. After the stick has dried completely, burn to make sure there is no excess smoking of the stick before doing a larger batch.
To scent your incense completely, submerge the incense in oil. It is OK for the “stick” portion not to be in the oil but all of the “punt”- the part that you burn should be covered. Soak for a minimum of 6 hours with the best results
achieved when soaked for a 24 hour period. After scenting, allow the incense to dry for one full day. You may save your fragrance and continue to use it for scenting more incense.
To burn your incense, use only a holder that is intended for that use. Make sure your holder is long enough to collect that ash that falls from the stick. Light the stick & gently blow out the flame. You should see a fine white smoke rising off the end of the stick. If you get a thick black smoke you may need to cut your fragrance with DPG (Di Propylene Glycol). You may also add DPG to stretch your fragrance but use no more than 2 parts DPG to 1 part fragrance.
Remember all ingredients are for external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Never leave burning incense unattended.
